New Short Pump Hotel

A new kind of hotel is planned for a new Short Pump development. Developers will break ground this Fall for the Richmond-area's first "aloft hotel." The hotel will open in the West Broad Village development off Broad Street in 2008.

The high-end aloft in Short Pump is one of only three slated to be developed in Virginia over the next two years. The aloft will be located above the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant West Broad Village.

The hotel's 135 rooms are designed in the style of downtown lofts with complete with exposed beams and structural steel, natural materials like cork, teak and wood, and guestrooms with nine foot ceilings and oversized windows to allow for more natural light.

A vision of W hotels, aloft rooms feature large flat panel televisions and the most recent electronics. Each guest room features plug & play, a signature one-stop connectivity solution for multiple electronic gadgetry such as blackberries, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops. These can all be linked to a large flat panel HDTV television.
