Dilip Desai

Dilip Desai, Senior Managing Partner, co-founded LTD Management Company, LLC in 1983. Mr. Desai is responsible for shaping and developing LTD’s vision for both the Management and Development divisions. Mr. Desai oversees the growth strategy and business plan of the company, which currently owns and manages more than $500 million in assets.

Prior to co-founding LTD Management Company, Mr. Desai worked as an auditor for a number of small universities and operated small retail businesses. Mr. Desai is recognized as an accomplished hotelier and developer by numerous franchise partners in the hospitality industry and has received many awards for his accomplishments. In 2002, Mr. Desai was appointed by Virginia’s Former Governor, Mark Warner, to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates. Mr. Desai also serves on various Advisory Boards and Design Committees with major hospitality partners including Marriott and Starwood Hotels. He is a founding member of the Asian American Hotel & Motel Owners Association.

Mr. Desai holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Palm Beach in Florida.


Hari Thakkar

Hari Thakkar, Senior Managing Partner, co-founded LTD Management Company, LLC in 1983. In addition to providing guidance on the overall direction of the company, Mr. Thakkar is responsible for financial administration and compliance for LTD as well as internal and external reporting. He also oversees financial planning and analysis to assist with decisions impacting the company’s financial performance. With over 25 years experience in the capital markets, Mr. Thakkar has been responsible for securing and arranging financing for over $700 million of hotel developments.

Prior to co-founding LTD Management Company in 1983, Mr. Thakkar owned and operated numerous small businesses in the Hampton Roads area and taught Finance and Accounting at Norfolk State University’s School of Business. Virginia’s Former Governor, Mark Warner selected him to the Virginia Resource Authority Board, which allocates loans from the State of Virginia. In addition to serving on BB&T Bank’s Board of Directors, Mr. Thakkar serves on various boards and committees. He is an active leader in society as he works with many social and community groups.

Mr. Thakkar holds a Master of Public Policy and Master of Business Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.


Neel Desai

Neel Desai, Managing Partner, joined LTD in 1998. Since joining the company, Mr. Desai significantly managed and fueled the company’s growth from a small handful of hotels to LTD’s current portfolio, valued at over $500 million. Most recently, Mr. Desai has assumed the primary leadership role for LTD’s Hospitality Management division. Mr. Desai oversees all aspects of hospitality operations to ensure the company’s profitability, longevity, superior service, and growth.

Hotel and Motel Management magazine recognized Mr. Desai as an entrepreneur who has made an impact on the hotel and lodging industry. Currently active in the Development division of LTD, Mr. Desai serves on various committees as an advisor for major lodging companies such as Marriott and Starwood. He is part of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott’s Operations and Design and Construction Committee and serves on the Owner’s Advisory Board for Starwood’s new brands: aloft by W and element by Westin. In addition to these roles, Mr. Desai is a member of the Board of Directors for Heritage Bank, a member of the Board of Trustees of Old Dominion University Educational Foundation, and President of Cape Henry Collegiate School’s Alumni Board. Further, Mr. Desai received the “Young Hotelier of the Year” award given by the Asian American Hotel and Motel Owners Association (AAHOA).

Mr. Desai holds a Master of Business Administration from Old Dominion University and Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems from George Mason University.


Malay Thakkar

Malay Thakkar, Managing Partner, currently overlooks the Development division of LTD, forming strategic initiatives to expand the company’s portfolio into key markets. Mr. Thakkar is responsible for a range of services including identifying important partnerships designed to expand the company’s current footprint of hotels and performing sound financial analyses to maximize investor value. Mr. Thakkar assumes responsibility for managing development projects for LTD’s Hospitality Management division from inception to delivery.

Since joining the company in 1998, Mr. Thakkar has overseen both the Hospitality Management and Development divisions, driving the company’s growth to over $500 million in assets. He positioned each division with sound operating processes in line with key financial drivers for a multi-hotel investment strategy. Mr. Thakkar strengthened the brand equity of the company by delivering premium rates of return, diversifying cash flow across multiple brands, and generating exponential growth in the company’s revenue.

Mr. Thakkar has served on the Development Board of Advisors for Starwood’s two new brands: aloft by W and element by Westin. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Greater Norfolk Corporation, and Heritage Bank.

Mr. Thakkar holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from George Washington University, a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Chemistry from Thomas Jefferson University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary.


Kush Thakkar

Kush Thakkar is a Managing Partner of LTD Management Company, LLC and the co-founder of LTD Residential Group. Mr. Thakkar overlooks the investment and financing activities of the LTD Residential Group’s development pipeline, including market analysis, project feasibility, securing debt and equity financing, and oversight of the construction process.

Prior to co-founding LTD Residential Group, Mr. Thakkar oversaw all aspects of LTD Management Company’s Hospitality Management division. Specifically, he was responsible for overseeing processes to streamline the various departments of the Management division and creating synergies to better serve both the company’s associates and its guests. These efforts significantly advanced the company’s growth strategy by solidifying a management platform scalable to markets outside of the mid-Atlantic region. In addition, he was involved in evaluating and underwriting over $200 million in real estate development.

Previously, Mr. Thakkar worked at K Hovnanian Homes, where he gained extensive experience in construction project management by managing over 200,000 square feet of various condominium and town home developments in Northern Virginia.

Mr. Thakkar holds an MBA in Finance from George Washington University and a BA from the University of Virginia

Tejal Desai

Tejal Desai is a Managing Partner of LTD Management Company, LLC and the co-founder of LTD Residential Group. Mr. Desai is responsible for overseeing the LTD Residential Group’s development platform, including managing site selection and acquisition, site planning, the zoning and regulatory process, and exterior and interior building design. In addition, Mr. Desai serves as the chief legal counsel for LTD Residential Group. In his capacity, he provides guidance and direction on all commercial and real property transactions.

Prior to co-founding LTD Residential Group, Mr. Desai evaluated all aspects of LTD Management’s business processes during the company’s extensive growth period. He is credited with executing specific corporate strategies to facilitate the company’s transition from a regional platform to a national one. These initiatives included implementing processes resulting in an annual savings of more than $350,000 and subscribing to a Green and Sustainable development philosophy. As a result of his efforts, the company has strategically partnered with Starwood Hotels to develop $150 million worth of LEED certified developments: element by Westin and The Westin Hotel & Conference Center Norfolk. LTD also is now a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and it has a Sustainability policy mandating use of more environmentally friendly building materials.

Mr. Desai holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University (JD/MBA) and the University of Virginia (BA). Mr. Desai is licensed to practice law in Virginia.
