LTD MANAGEMENT To Build New Starwood Branded Hotels In Baltimore Suburb
BALTIMORE— LTD MANAGEMENT Co. LLC, a Chesapeake, VA-based management company, has reached an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. to develop two hotels, including the newly branded Element, on the northern edge of Anne Arundel County, according to published reports.
LTD, which last year unveiled plans to build two other Anne Arundel County hotels near the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, plans to spend $40 million to construct a 145-room, extended-stay Element hotel and a 142-room Aloft hotel at 7522 Teague Road in Hanover, a 4.5-acre parcel of land LTD bought in October for $6 million.
Starwood launched the Element brand in late September, a year after it came out with its Aloft brand, and LTD spokesperson Kimberly Schlick said she is pleased her company was able to connect with Starwood to develop the hotels. Both will be seven-story, limited-service hotels, meaning they will not have retail or restaurants.
Schlick said she expects LTD could be in position to begin construction next spring, following a six-month planning process. The project could take a year to complete, she said.
She added LTD chose the site because of its proximity to BWI Airport, Arundel Mills and state Route 100.
