Up, Up and aloft

The developing team - including representatives from LTD Management Co. LLC, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., and the city of Chesapeake - break ground at 1500 Crossways Blvd. for Virginia's first aloft hotel. Starwood anticipates the first hotels to open in 2008 with 500 properties worldwide expected by 2012. Executives present included Chip Ohlsson with Starwood; Paul Sacco, Starwood; Neel Desai, LTD; Harry Thakkar, LTD; Chesapeake Mayor Dalton Edge; and Malay Thakkar, LTD.
