“TOURISM WORKS FOR NORFOLK” AWARD
November 13, 2008 (Chesapeake, VA)–The seventh annual “Tourism Works for Norfolk” award was presented to Dilip Desai, Hari Thakkar and LTD Management Company on September 25, 2008 by the Norfolk Convention and Visitors Bureau at the annual Celebration of Success Luncheon.
Desai and Thakkar were recognized for their dedication to Norfolk’s hospitality industry as hotel owners, developers and managers. The award highlighted their success with LTD Management Company’s current portfolio of Norfolk properties, which include Holiday Inn Select Norfolk, Residence Inn Norfolk Airport, SpringHill Suites Norfolk, the Courtyard Downtown Norfolk and the soon to be opened Residence Inn Downtown Norfolk and The Westin Norfolk Hotel and Conference Center. LTD was also recognized for its community service with the City of Norfolk’s Project Homeless Connect, with almost forty LTD associates volunteering at the event.
The “Tourism Works for Norfolk” award was established in 2002 to honor those who have done the most to promote tourism in Norfolk during that year. Past recipients include Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim and attorney Peter Decker.
