This is LTD’s second New Construction and Design award from Marriott, and sixth award relating to excellence in design, new construction, or renovation from Marriott International.

The Courtyard by Marriott Newport News Airport is one of the first new-build properties to incorporate the brand's reinvented lobby and room concepts. The modern lobby invites guests to work or socialize with open seating; complimentary Wi-Fi; boarding pass print kiosks; and flat screen TVs. A new addition to the Courtyard lobby is the GoBoardTM, a 52-inch touch-screen LCD giving guests the option to navigate through local information like restaurants, shopping, maps, weather reports, and news headlines. Guests can also dine at The Bistro for breakfast, or they can enjoy dinner service in the evening with cocktails. The Courtyard by Marriott Newport News Airport was also the first new-build to feature the brand’s new exterior design. The property was designed by the architectural firm Jonathan Nehmer & Associates, Inc. and the interior design firm HVScompass, located in Rockville, MD.

The Courtyard by Marriott Newport News Airport was the host site for the Courtyard brand’s 25th Anniversary Celebration on October 30, 2008. Mr. J.W. Marriott, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Marriott International, Brian King, Vice President of Global Brand Management, and Dilip Desai, Senior Managing Partner for LTD Management Company were keynote speakers at the event.“It was an honor to host Mr. Marriott and the Courtyard brand team at the Courtyard Newport News Airport.
